Tweed is a twill fabric woven from worsted yarn. Gents coats, over coats, jackets and women coats are made from tweed. Superior quality of worsted yarn is used to weave tweed.

The tweed is woven on handloom. It is generally woven in horizontal and vertical stripes, plain and checks, square, rectangular and even triangular. In order to make it non-shrinkage prone it is milled after weaving.
