Manali is the prime tourist destination of Himachal and reveals the valley at its best. According to legend its name is derived from words Manu and Alaya, meaning the abode of Manu, who came here for the renewal of life after the great deluge. Manali is synonymous with streams and bird songs, forests and orchards and the grandeur of snow-capped mountains. Manali is the gateway of Rohtang Pass beyond which the twin valleys of Lahaul and Spiti lie. This exotic place can boast of a longish tourist season full of different hued flowers at their glorious best from mid April to June. Bewitching beautiful mountain line in October/November greets the eye. It becomes a trekker's dreamland during July and mid-November.

Hadimba TempleHadimba Devi Temple (2 kms): Located amidst a peaceful glade, the temple is dedicated to goddess Hadimba Devi who according to the local myth, was a mountain belle rescued from her evil-demon brother by God Bhim who married her later. She is worshipped by the people as a protector from evil omens and natural calamities and is popularly known as 'Mother Goddess' among the local people. The outstanding features of this temple are a four-tiered pagoda shaped roof and a beautifully carved door.

Vashisht Baths (1.5 kms): The natural therapeutic sulphur springs form a major tourist attraction. Temples of Vashisht Rishi & Lord Rama add another dimension to the sight.

Tibetan Monastery (2 kms): A place having a rare display of Tibetan handicraft & hand woven colorful carpets with exotic designs.

Manu Maharishi TempleManu Maharishi Temple (4 kms): Manu Temple is located in old Manali village. It is believed that Manu, after the great deluge, first stepped on earth from the celestial boat and this particular spot where he established his abode is the present Manali which is derived from 'Manu Alaya', meaning the home of Manu. It was from here that the human race came into being after deluge. The Manu Temple is the only temple on the earth dedicated to Manu.

Solang Valley (16 kms): The valley offers splendid view of glaciers and snow clad mountain peaks with excellent skiing slopes. In summer one can enjoy Para-sailing.

Club HouseClub House (3 kms): It is situated on the banks of river Beas where you can feel its cold flowing crystal water. The club house is run & maintained by H.P. Tourism. One can enjoy the outdoor & indoor games here.

Naggar (21 kms): Nestling on a slope with forests all around, about 100 meters above the left bank of river Beas, it commands a splendid and extensive view of the valley. It was the capital of Kullu state for about 1400 years. Here one can see Naggar Castle, now converted into Hotel run by H.P. Tourism, built on a steep eminence overlooking the valley. You can also have a glimpse of Roerich Art gallery - A white washed well maintained house of Late Shri Nicholas Roerich, husband of renowned film actress of yesteryear Late Devika Rani, is famous for paintings.

Rohtang Pass (52 kms): Rohtang Pass is the main attraction in Manali. It is near about 2-hr. drive from our Hotel. At the top of the pass air seems to glitter against snow as you look down over herringbone ridges into the other valley. The height of this snow-covered peak is 13,400ft. From the sea level. This pass is open only from June to September every year rest of the period its closed due to heavy snow. However, trekkers can manage to trek upto a certain point when the pass is closed.

Manikaran (85 kms): It is famous for Hot Springs, Shri Ram Chandraji Temple and Gurudwara The water gushing out with tremendous force is so hot, even rice or vegetables can be cooked. It is rich in sulphur and good for rheumatism, gout, bronchitis and muscular pain

Trek around Kullu Valley with Ambassador

Kullu Valley, overlooked by snow-clad peaks, with thick forests of Fir & Deodar and beautiful Side-valleys, is trekker's delight.

In the spring when the fruit tree bloom, the valley is a palette of delicate colours; during the harvest season of Summer and Autumn, it turns into a joyous pastoral landscape. Nowhere else in the mountain is there such access to a rich variety of Himalayan flowering flora.

Kullu Valley has innumerable easy trails, on its branch-valleys, which can be easily explored in a day; guests leave in the morning, stroll along the trail for 5/6 hrs. and return back to the comfort of the Resort in the evening. Some trails leads to villages where one learns about the panorama of local life while others meander through the alpine meadows, coniferous forests and cascading waterfalls. Each step of the trail unfolds stunning view of the valley and snow-clad peaks.

The trails, meticulously chosen, are suitable for people who enjoy walking and have a reasonable level of fitness. Special care has been taken so that there is no need to clamber over steep or tricky mountain sides.
